Fr. Paul Mimbi, representing the pro-Chancellor of Strathmore University, spoke about the leadership style of don Alvaro, with whom he lived for several years. He spoke of the paradoxical mixture of bon Alvaro’s personality: personal humility and a fierce resolve, timidity and ferociousness, shy and fearless.
After the speeches about Don Alvaro Lucy Mulli, the producer, spoke about Bloom where you are planted, a short documentary about how Opus Dei has taken root in Kenyan soil. It was shown immediately afterwards.
People had a chance to see the panels which outline don Alvaro’s life, his service to the Church and the social projects that Don Alvaro encouraged and initiated. People also got a chance to buy some books and materials for them to be more familiar with this soon to be blessed.
